Expanded to include 5 rehearsal performances previously only available on DVD, the anniversary release also features an exclusive gatefold jacket including anniversary silver foil detail on the front and back cover. No other band could have offered covers of David Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold the World” and the folk standard “Where Did You Sleep Last Night” on the same record, turning in chilling performances of both — performances that reveal as much as their original songs.

Almost all of our vinyl discs will include either an original inner sleeve, or a plain inner sleeve, or a printed inner sleeve, which we provide with the sole purpose of protecting the record. Upon finding out that Nirvana would be playing its lesser known songs and covers from bands like Meat Puppets, MTV tried to pressure the band into playing more of their hits, or inviting more popular bands to play with the band. In addition to the 180gm black vinyl edition that will be available wherever fine vinyl is sold, an exclusive, limited edition colored vinyl edition will be available only at Nirvana. We also share information about your use of our site with our social media, advertising and analytics partners. Rehearsal versions of “Polly,” “Pennyroyal Tea,” “Come As You Are” and the Meat Puppets’ “Plateau” are also included on the vinyl’s Side D.As opposed to traditional practice on the television series, Nirvana played a setlist composed of mainly lesser-known material and cover versions of songs by The Vaselines, David Bowie, Meat Puppets (during which they were joined by two members of the group onstage), and Lead Belly. Kurt Cobain’s songwriting was revealed to be just as emotionally hefty, even without the dynamism of Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl’s normal volume - indeed, the thought of Grohl drumming with brushes is a strange one even now. This, in many senses, isn’t just an abnormal Nirvana record, capturing them in their sincerest desire to be R.

Released within a year of Kurt Cobain’s death, it topped album charts around the world, going platinum in its first week of release. We carry a broad range of CDs and vinyl (7”/12” singles and LPs) and specialise in indie, alternative, rock, punk, metal plus a few other genres. Artists doing unplugged sessions and interacting with each other and the crowd bring them down to earth and humbled I think. BMG Blue (BMI); "Oh Me," "Plateau" and "Lake Of Fire" written by Curt Kirkwood and published by BMG Bumblebee (BMI); "Where Did You Sleep Last Night? Then, there’s the subtexts, as Kurt’s hurt and suicidal impulses bubble to the surface even as he’s trying to suppress them. Among the rehearsals – which were previously only available as bonus content on the MTV Unplugged in New York – is a different take on the David Bowie cover “The Man Who Sold the World,” a version that finds both Nirvana and the production team finding their footing ahead of the concert. The double-vinyl package features the original tracklisting, in addition to five bonus rehearsal performances that were previously only available on the DVD edition.
