I’m not saying that this is completely fiction, as quite a few of the stories can be proven, as there are survivor’s tales of their experience in the frigid water; plus the author gives a biography of many people mentioned in the book. But the American Senate inquiry into the sinking of Titanic opened the day after survivors docked in New York and was wrapped up in five weeks, with all the ugly facts laid bare. Watch the drama unfold as ordinary people became unsung heroes and the supposedly unsinkable ship became an underwater wreck.

A brilliant non fiction read for any fan of the titanic disaster, or any students studying the boat. The sinking has captured the public imagination ever since, in part because of the scale of the tragedy, but also because the ship represented in microcosm Edwardian society, with the super-rich sharing the vessel with poor migrants seeking a new life in North America. From first words to the Big Bang, from the wonders of nature to city adventures, you will find expert knowledge, hours of fun and endless inspiration in the pages of our books. I am a fan of books that recounts historical events, I've just finished Erik Larson The Devil in the White City, and I'm wondering if there is a similar book on the Titanic?

Almost every Titanic video and documentary was watched over and over again to try and find the answers to the questions which the following pages raise.

SS Nomadic tickets are valid for use on the same day or can be redeemed on another date within a year from purchase. The Titanic disaster, in which more than 1,500 people died, is of course one of the most famous events of the 20th Century, yet little is known about what happened to the Omar in its days aboard the ship.Complete with histories and accounts from the survivors, the book provides a full understanding of the disaster and the far-reaching effects it had on the survivors. Understandably, she was somewhat disconcerted to discover she was being posted to a ship which, in every respect, was the same as Titanic. There was a lot out there about the ship and a lot of information about both facts and those that were shrouded in embellishments and fiction. Original Belfast newspaper reports are used to describe the creation and launch of this great ship, and these give a clear indication of the pride which we in Belfast had in our latest creation. It was nice to know more about them and learn what they were like and their duties, giving humanity to each face including the captain.
