The new Samsung S95C has excellent off-axis brightness and color uniformity, but 2022's S95B is equally good in those respects. (Image credit: Future) Samsung S95C vs Samsung S95B: Design

Samsung has revamped its Tizen-based Smart TV interface for 2022 - and on current form, I wish it hadn’t, honestly. In terms of the smart TV and OS on the Samsung S95B, it runs on Tizen and we found it worked fine using it day to day, but it is slow in comparison to the competition, most notably the LG WebOS C and G series sets we have on test here. It all works fine, but every now and again the system would hang or stop for a few seconds before continuing again. We also found switching sources took a little longer than we would like as well as slow responses to some remote control requests. Sound Quality The Samsung S95B’s audio is in some ways a pleasant surprise, given how insanely thin most of the TV’s bodywork is. With regular day-to-day TV audio and the relatively spartan talky scenes that actually make up most of a typical movie’s running time, the sound appears clean and nicely staged, with the OTS system doing a startlingly effective job of making specific sound effects appear as if they’re coming from the right place both on and slightly beyond the screen. Especially with Dolby Atmos mixes. If the sound produced by the QN65S959BAF’s 60-watt speakers isn’t as good as its picture, it’s still more than good enough to satisfy any non-audiophiles. (They, and anyone less forgiving, will want to consider one of our best soundbars.) If you’ve already settled on a 55-inch TV you probably know a thing or two about what specs and features you need – but here’s what to consider before splashing out: Display techWhile the QN90B's incredibly bright display is stunning, it pales in comparison to the color of the S95B.

As is the case with all Samsung TVs, neither the QN90B nor the S95B supports Dolby Vision, a popular, proprietary version of HDR. Dolby Vision titles can be streamed on platforms like Netflix and Apple TV, and Blu-rays are often mastered for Dolby Vision, too.that violates any law, statute, ordinance or regulation (including, but not limited to, those governing export control, consumer protection, unfair competition, anti-discrimination or false advertising);

While we want to stress again that we haven't put the Sony TVs through its paces in the same way we would for a full review, we have done so with the Samsung and it yielded some interesting results.

The Double Edge of Quantum Dots

Finally, the Samsung S95C requires some hands-on adjustment when it comes to motion, as the Movie preset is overly processed, while the Filmmaker mode leaves the processing out which is ideal for purists, but some will be put off by the slightly noticeable judder. Delving into the Picture Clarity settings can remedy this to an extent, but Sony is still the one to beat when it comes to motion. We uploaded the latest brightness measurements and uniformity photos for the Accelerated Longevity Test. The QN90B’s additional size options along with its lower price make this category an easy win for the Neo QLED.
